To boost aesthetics and create a more comfortable, lush environment, the Petamburan Urban Village administration in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, is set to revitalize the Jati Pinggir Inspection Road.

Petamburan Urban Village Head, Ryan Hermanu, stated that the makeover is necessary as the inspection road has been heavily encroached upon by illegal structures, street vendor (PKL) stalls, and piles of trash.

This revitalization is slated to kick off in late May

"We aim to enhance the area's visual appeal with a concept centered around scenic garden views," he expressed, Tuesday (5/12).

This plan has been communicated to the street vendors and mass organization leaders who had erected buildings along the road.

"In the future, a multipurpose hall will be built for the community to use for various activities," he added.

From the approximately 150 street vendors currently in the area, a screening process will be conducted to select 20 vendors to occupy a designated zone.

"Priority will be given to those with Petamburan ID cards who pass taste and hygiene tests, with an emphasis on authentic Betawi cuisine," he explained.

He hopes the project will result in a more orderly and clean environment, serving as a comfortable community hub for residents.

"This revitalization is slated to kick off in late May," he concluded.
