6,306 Potholes in North Jakarta Repaired

The North Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency recorded that from January to April 2026, as many as 6,306 potholes were successfully repaired, covering a total area of 54,579.43 square meters.

North Jakarta Roads and Bridges Section Head, Budi Cahyo Wardoyo, stated that road maintenance and repairs are conducted continuously as a follow-up to public reports.

According to him, reports are received through various channels, including JAKI application, social media, and direct monitoring by field officers. Routine maintenance and repairs of damaged roads and potholes are conducted periodically by the task force.

"The repairs are handled using quick-patching methods with coldmix and hotmix patching," he expressed, Friday (5/8).

He further detailed the breakdown of repairs by district: in Tanjung Priok, 939 potholes were repaired covering 8,507.54 square meters. In Kelapa Gading, 1,240 spots were fixed across 9,720.76 square meters, while in Cilincing, 641 spots were addressed totaling 9,449.18 square meters.

In Koja, 730 potholes were repaired spanning 4,398.69 square meters, and in Pademangan, 597 spots were completed covering 3,030.15 square meters. Meanwhile, in Penjaringan, repairs reached 981 spots with a total area of 13,434.27 square meters.

"Our team also performed additional repairs on 1,178 spots with a total area of 6,038.84 square meters," he explained.

He clarified that the repairs cover various types of roads, including neighborhood, arterial, collector, and local roads. Road damage in North Jakarta is influenced by several factors, such as the age of the road, high intensity of rainfall, puddles, and the load of heavy-duty vehicles.

"We hope these repairs will improve road quality while supporting safety, comfort, and the smooth mobility of the public," he added.

This rapid response received appreciation from a resident of Pegangsaan Dua, Danang Irwanto.

"We would like to express our gratitude for the repairs. We now feel safer and more comfortable," he concluded.
