Semanan Urban Village Head Jufri explained that the 1,025 trees planted consisted of 25 productive trees, five each of water apple, orange, longan, mango, and ambarella. Meanwhile, 500 shade trees were planted, each of tabebuya and mahogany.
"So in total we planted 1,025 trees," he said.
He added that this planting activity involved elements of the army, police, urban village officials, regional administrators, farmer groups, and the local community.
"This is part of an effort to improve the environment," he added.
Not only to make the area greener and more beautiful, according to Jufri, the planting of productive trees is expected to support the residents' food security.
He hopes this activity will further strengthen the bond between residents and government officials, while also raising collective awareness of environmental protection.
"The results of the productive plants and ponds can then be shared by residents. So, urban farming is not only green but also productive," he stated.
