Head of Kebon Kosong Urban Village, Arbi Novianto said the revitalization of vacant land into productive agricultural and livestock areas is the result of collaboration between PPK Kemayoran cadres and the Central Jakarta Food Security, Fisheries and Maritime Affairs Sub-agency, to support the food security program and improve the welfare of residents.
"We apply for a land loan," he said.
This urban farming is planted with various types of productive plants and various vegetables such as bananas, sapodilla, cassava, water spinach, chilies, turmeric and so on.
On this land, livestock farming such as ducks and chickens is also developed.
"We also have a fish pond filled with various types of fish including catfish and tilapia," he added.
In the future, various types of seeds, both new plants and useful livestock, will be cultivated.
"We will also collaborate more closely with related parties to market the harvest from urban farming land," he admitted.
