Jakarta City Council (DPRD) Commission D Chairperson, Yuke Yurike, stressed that the council continues to monitor the ongoing upgrade of Jalan HR Rasuna Said area.
It's progress so far has been quite fast and positive
She said the project was planned and budgeted from the start and is expected to stay on track, with a chance of finishing ahead of schedule.
"It's progress so far has been quite fast and positive. However, we urge that quality is not overlooked, as it concerns comfort, safety, and the area's aesthetics," she asserted, Wednesday (5/6).
Yuke expressed hope the work will be completed in time for Jakarta's 499th anniversary in June, calling it a symbolic milestone and a “gift” for residents.
She also welcomed Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung's plan to invite President Prabowo Subianto to inaugurate the revamped area.
If realized, the inauguration is expected to strengthen Jalan HR Rasuna Said's position as one of Jakarta's key landmarks. The area sits along a major arterial road surrounded by government offices, business centers, and embassies
"Rasuna Said is a key arterial road with many embassies and office buildings. This upgrade is expected to further enhance Jakarta's image," she noted.
Earlier, Governor Pramono said Jalan HR Rasuna Said has been upgraded, cleared of monorail pillars, and is set for inauguration on June 22, 2026.
He also highlighted the importance of continuity across administrations, including completing stalled projects to reduce sectoral interests and speed up urban development.
