The West Jakarta City Government deployed 12 tanker trucks to help drain the floodwaters on the Outer Ring Road and Jalan Kembangan Selatan, Tuesday (5/5).
West Jakarta Mayor, Iin Mutmainah said the flooding that occurred in a number of locations was triggered by overflowing rivers due to heavy rain, Monday (5/4) afternoon until last night.

"I've asked my staff to take steps to minimize the impact of the flooding, including flooding on several roads and managing traffic," she said, Tuesday (5/5).
Iin explained that to drain the floodwaters on the Outer Ring Road, her team deployed 10 water tankers from the West Jakarta Water Resources, Parks and Urban Forestry Sub-agency, and the Fire and Rescue Sub-agency. Meanwhile, two water tankers were deployed on Jalan Kembangan Selatan.
"I hope the flooding on the road will recede soon and traffic will flow smoothly again," she hoped.
Head of Kembangan District, Joko Suparno explained flooding in the Outer Ring Road area, particularly under the JORR W2 underpass, was triggered by the overflowing Angke River. As of midday, the floodwaters were between 10 and 40 centimeters deep.
In addition to water tanker trucks for suction, according to Joko, his party also deployed 30 joint officers from the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the Water Resources Task Force, Transportation, Social Affairs, PPSU as well as support from the Traffic Police for traffic control.
"We hope that the flooding will be resolved by this afternoon at the latest, so that traffic will return to normal by the end of the work day," he hoped.
