Water Resources (SDA) Unit from Kebayoran Baru Sub-district, South Jakarta, has completed drainage repairs on Jalan Radio I, Kramat Pela Urban Village.

Kebayoran Baru Sub-district SDA Unit Head, Sutopo, said the repairs aim to improve water flow and reduce the risk of flooding in the area, especially during heavy rain.

"We upgraded the infrastructure by replacing the old channel with a U-ditch system," he informed, Tuesday (5/5).

Sutopo said the 19-meter drainage channel was rebuilt using 80-centimeter U-ditch segments.

"The work was carried out manually by five Blue Troops personnel starting April 20, 2026," he added.

He said the upgrade should improve drainage performance and comfort for nearby residents.

"The work is complete. The channel is now stronger, wider, and better at carrying water," he asserted.

A local resident, Rastu (31) welcomed the repairs, saying the previous condition was dangerous as collapsed retaining walls had blocked the water flow.

"If it collapses, it’s dangerous because there's a sidewalk above it. Thankfully it was repaired quickly," he added.
