Personnel of South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency controlled illegal parking at Gandaria City Mall, Jalan Sultan Iskandar Muda, Kebayoran Lama Utara Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru District.

Nine motorcycles caught parked illegally were confiscated by personnel. In addition, four other vehicles were subject to valve removal.

Operational Handling of the Sub-agency, Ebenezer Lumban Tobing said this clean-up is a follow-up to residents' complaints via the JAKI application.

"We immediately followed up on the complaints received on site. As a result, we took firm action against 13 vehicles," he said, Monday (5/4).

He explained in the past month, his party has taken action against a total of 21 vehicles with confiscation sanctions in the area, as well as dozens of other vehicles whose valves were removed.

According to him, illegal parking violations often occur due to the actions of unofficial parking attendants who continue to direct vehicles to park in prohibited locations, even though there are official facilities available in the area.

"We give strict warnings to illegal parking attendants because these actions are detrimental to vehicle owners and other road users," he explained.

Meanwhile, one of the residents, Junaidi appreciated the personnel for controlling the illegal parking.

"This location offers a crossing and a U-turn. Adding illegal parking will make traffic even more chaotic," he admitted.
