East Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency evacuated a kedondong tree with a diameter of around 60 centimeters and a height of approximately 10 meters which fell in the Prumpung Public Cemetery (TPU) area, Cipinang Besar Utara Urban Village, Jatinegara District.

Head Section of Green Line of the Sub-agency, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita said the tree fell at around 08.30 AM during cloudy weather accompanied by strong winds.

"This tree fell, allegedly because the roots were fragile due to age," he said, Monday (5/4).

A total of six Green Troop personnel with supporting equipment were deployed to handle the fallen tree.

"The evacuation process took about 45 minutes and went smoothly without any significant problems," he added.

Meanwhile, one of the local residents, Aries (43) appreciated the personnel for evacuating the tree.

"The tree trunk that fell on the grave plot was immediately evacuated," he admitted.
