The Jakarta Transportation Agency confirmed that parking activities in the Blok M Square area have been carried out through collaboration between the area management and the Parking UP since around 15 years ago or since 2011 until now.
The parking management mechanism is carried out through a profit-sharing cooperation scheme that is adjusted to the parking space capacity owned by each party.

This statement was made in response to the spotlight of the Special Committee (Pansus) on Parking Management of the Jakarta City Council regarding the alleged potential leakage of parking revenue in the Blok M Square area, South Jakarta.
"Parking activities in the Blok M Square area are carried out through cooperation between the Blok M Square Area Management and the Parking UP since 2011 until now, with a profit-sharing cooperation mechanism according to the parking space capacity owned by each party," said Massdes Arouffy, Head of Parking Management Unit of Jakarta Transportation Agency, Thursday (4/30).
The agency is currently conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the existing partnership model, both with area managers and parking operators working at the location. The evaluation is being conducted as part of an effort to improve services and optimize regional revenue from the parking sector.
"The results of this evaluation will later contribute to increasing Regional Original Income (PAD), especially from the parking tax and retribution sector," he added.
Massdes explained that the Parking Management Unit has also tightened requirements for the parking operator selection process. One of the main requirements is the operator's ability to implement a digitally integrated parking information technology system.
According to him, the system allows reporting of parking levy revenue and parking tax to be done in real time through the Parking Digitalization program using the Online Parking Revenue Monitoring Application and the e-Trapt parking tax digitalization system.
"The implementation of a digital system is an important step to increase transparency in parking management while minimizing the potential for regional revenue leakage," he stated.
