PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP) promoted strategic investment opportunities to Chinese businesses during the JIEP Strategic Business Matching Forum in Shenzhen, China.
contributing to the development of a modern, inclusive, and environmentally friendly urban future
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, who attended the event, invited Shenzhen-based businesses to take part in Jakarta's transformation into a competitive and sustainable global city.
"Investing in JIEP is not only about business returns, but also about contributing to the development of a modern, inclusive, and environmentally friendly urban future," Pramono said while delivering his remarks and officially opening the business matching forum.
JIEP President Director Satrio Witjaksono said the forum marked a strategic moment to expand global partnerships and accelerate investment realization in the area.
He said JIEP offers more than an industrial estate, with an integrated ecosystem being developed into a modern, tech-based and sustainable industrial zone connected to public transportation.
"We invite investors to help build the future of Jakarta's industrial and urban development," he added.
Satrio added that JIEP is currently developing a 25-year remaster plan to transform its roughly 433-hectare area into an Integrated Hi-Tech Industrial and Innovation District.
Investment opportunities include Transit Oriented Development (TOD), modern smart warehouse development, and mixed-use areas integrated with digital infrastructure and public transportation.
"As Indonesia's first industrial estate, established in 1973, JIEP holds a strategic position in the heart of Jakarta, with direct access to ports, airports, and major transport networks," he noted.
Satrio explained the governor's presence at the forum reflects the Jakarta Government's commitment to facilitating investment, fostering a conducive business climate, and fully supporting the development of Pulogadung Industrial Estate as a key investment destination.
He added that backed by the Jakarta administration and state-owned holding company Danareksa, JIEP offers investment certainty through professional governance, simplified licensing, and integrated regulatory support.
"Through this business matching forum, we hope to build strategic partnerships between JIEP and Chinese investors that will not only result in concrete business cooperation, but also drive economic growth, technology transfer, and the development of a modern and sustainable industrial area in Jakarta," Satrio emphasized.
The forum was attended by more than 50 Chinese business representatives from various sectors, including technology, modern industrial estate management, manufacturing, construction, and other related industries.
Participants showed strong interest, with active engagement throughout the agenda, including panel discussions that served as an interactive platform between JIEP, the Jakarta administration, and prospective investors.
During the panel session, several Chinese businesses expressed interest in investing in Jakarta, particularly in the Pulogadung Industrial Estate, while exploring concrete partnership opportunities that could be realized in the near term.
The event was also attended by Indonesian Consul General in Guangzhou Ben Perkasa Drajat, Danareksa Investment Director I Chris Soemijantoro, and PT JIEP management.
