Jakarta City Council Commission A conveyed several notes during a working meeting discussing the Jakarta government's Accountability Statement (LKPJ) 2025 with various Regional Government Organizations (OPD).

Jakarta City Council Commission A Chairman, Achmad Yani expressed appreciation for the various achievements of the Regional Government Organizations (OPD) under the oversight of Commission A. Nevertheless, he emphasized that several notes raised by council members should serve as a basis for future improvements.

“While there is much to appreciate, there are also observations and inquiries that must be integrated into recommendations for future progress,” he remarked, Friday (4/24).

One of the key issues addressed during the LKPJ deliberations was the fire prevention and suppression sector. Achmad Yani noted that the continued occurrence of fatalities in fire incidents highlights the urgent need to strengthen safety standards, particularly in high-rise buildings.

He emphasized the importance of enhancing evacuation readiness and ensuring full compliance with building safety requirements to prevent similar tragedies from recurring.

"In the future, safety requirements must be strengthened—especially in high-rise buildings—to ensure that evacuation processes can be carried out effectively," he explained.

Further, he commended the achievements of the Population and Civil Registration Agency (Dukcapil) in population data collection, which is regarded as highly successful with a coverage rate of 98–99 percent. Nonetheless, he urged that the remaining unrecorded residents be promptly registered to reach the 100 percent mark.

He also pointed out that there are still residents holding Jakarta ID cards who no longer reside in the capital. This issue must be continuously addressed to ensure that population data is more accurate and reflects actual conditions on the ground.

Previously, the Jakarta government conducted the deactivation of National Identity Numbers (NIK) for residents no longer living in Jakarta. However, migration dynamics persist, particularly during the Eid holiday period, which results in significant population inflows and outflows.

“When residents move, their administrative records must be adjusted accordingly. This is vital for ensuring that population data remains truly valid,” he concluded.
