Sidewalks on six roads in Sukabumi Utara Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk District, West Jakarta were controlled by the joint personnel.

Head of Sukabumi Utara Urban Village, Ali Sahidin explained this routine activity aims to prevent the sidewalk from being misused for its intended purpose, while also maintaining the beauty and comfort of the environment.

The targets are street vendors

"The targets are street vendors who occupy sidewalks, disrupting the comfort and cleanliness of the neighborhood. Furthermore, their presence also disrupts the sidewalk's function," he said.

The six sidewalk locations that were controlled by officers were on Jalan Lapangan Bola Masjid Assurur, Panjang Arteri Pos Pengumben, Bang Pitung, Rawa Belong and Jalan E.

During the activity, officers conducted a thorough search of six locations along the road. They confiscated carts, tarpaulins, benches, stalls, umbrellas, and a "odong-odong" (traditional streetcar).

In addition to controlling street vendors, the activity also controlled tire repair shops that were occupying the sidewalk on Jalan Bang Pitung.

It is hoped that this initiative will have a deterrent effect, preventing street vendors from using sidewalks for their businesses. This will ensure sidewalks function properly and contribute to a cleaner and more beautiful environment.

"We hope that all parties realize that sidewalks are intended for pedestrians so that they do not misuse their function and make the area dirty," he emphasized.
