Meanwhile, Head of Jatinegara District Satpol PP, Teguh Nurdin Amali said the majority of street vendors were traders of various animals, such as birds, fish, dogs, cats, snakes, and even rabbits.
"Their presence certainly disturbs the safety and comfort of pedestrians and can trigger traffic jams around the location," he added.
Teguh explained that the street vendors were given yellow cards or warnings for not to carry out business activities in places that were not designated for them.
"If violations continue, we will take action with minor criminal sanctions and they must attend a trial at the East Jakarta District Court," he emphasized.
