Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung officially inaugurated 11 high-ranking officials (Echelon II) within the Jakarta Provincial Government at Balai Agung, Jakarta City Hall, on Wednesday (4/15).
To strengthen the bureaucracy in addressing Jakarta's challenges
The inauguration is part of a strategy to strengthen the bureaucracy in addressing Jakarta's challenges as a global city and the center of the national economy.
The appointments were made under Jakarta Governor Decrees No. 385 to 388 of 2026, issued on April 14, 2026, concerning the appointment, transfer, and dismissal of Echelon II officials.
"I would like to congratulate all of you who have just been inaugurated. This is a significant responsibility," Pramono said.
He emphasized that the selection of the new officials went through a thorough three-week deliberation process, prioritizing a talent management system.
"We communicated and held discussions to determine the names, and then applied a talent management approach, as this authority lies with the Jakarta governor," he noted.
The governor urged the newly appointed officials to work earnestly, uphold integrity, dedication, loyalty, and transparency, and serve the Jakarta Provincial Government.
Although the inauguration was held simultaneously, the effective dates of the appointments vary, with three officials taking effect immediately, four starting June 1, 2026, three on August 1, 2026, and one pending the issuance of a decree for appointment as a senior functional official.
Through this inauguration, Pramono ensured that no key positions would remain filled by acting officials. He expressed hope that the appointed officials would deliver the best possible public services.
"This inauguration marks the final one. There will be no further inaugurations, and they will assume their roles according to the timeline set in the decrees," he stressed.
Pramono also highlighted future challenges facing the Jakarta administration, including geopolitical impacts and the El Niño phenomenon, which brings prolonged hot and dry conditions.
"Therefore, collective efforts and coordination will be led by me and the deputy governor to guide all of you," he said.
