Pancoran District's Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Unit held anti-rabies vaccination for pets at Duren Tiga Urban Village Office.
The Unit Head, Anton, said this free rabies vaccination service is the first to be held after Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
We offer free rabies vaccinations
"This week, we carried out four activities like this, especially in the Duren Tiga area," he said, Tuesday (4/14).
Anton explained that in carrying out rabies vaccinations as an effort to maintain Jakarta's rabies-free status, his team succeeded in reaching 44 pets.
"Today's rabies vaccinations are all for cats. With three more days remaining, we hope public enthusiasm will increase. We offer free rabies vaccinations not only for cats but also for other species such as dogs, monkeys, and ferrets," he explained.
Meanwhile, one of the cat owners, Alfiyah admitted that the free pet vaccination service is very helpful for residents, especially animal lovers who really care about the health of their pets.
"It's incredibly helpful, as the cost of self-vaccinations is quite expensive. So, I hope this program can continue," she hoped.
