The South Jakarta Social Sub-agency distributed 20 prosthetic leg aids to residents in need and who had gone through a verification process.

Head of the Sub-agency, Bernard Tambunan said the aid recipients have gone through a number of stages, starting from proposals to field verification to ensure conditions and eligibility, especially for the less fortunate.

"After being declared to meet the requirements, the next stage is measurement to ensure the suitability of the size of the prosthetic leg," he said, Monday (4/13).

Bernard explained that after the measurement process, the prosthetic leg production process takes approximately two weeks to a month. All recipients who have participated in the process since last March will then undergo the fitting phase.

"Today is the installation schedule for residents who have gone through all the stages since March," he explained.

One of the beneficiaries from Setiabudi District, Sadian (63) expressed his gratitude for the assistance.

He explained that he lost his leg due to amputation due to diabetes. Sadian admitted that he remains enthusiastic about his activities, including working.

"I'm still trying to make a living by being a motorcycle taxi driver. This assistance has been very helpful in my daily activities," he admitted.
