To facilitate residents' access to population administration services, the Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Agency is introducing a Jumat Petang (Friday Evening) program. Residents can access the service on the second Friday of every month at all agency's service points.
Head of Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Agency, Denny Wahyudi Haryanto said it's not easy for Jakarta residents with high activity levels to get to the service counter. He explained that although digital services are available, not all services can be done online, such as registering for electronic ID cards (e-KTP) for beginners aged 16-17.
commitment to providing public-oriented services
Therefore, the agency has extended service hours every second Friday until 7:30 PM at all service counters to accommodate this need.
"Citizens aged 16 years and above can record their e-KTP, starting from recording their face (photo), biometric recording, eye retina and signature at the Population Administration Service Unit of the Urban Village according to their domicile, only by bringing their family card and birth certificate," he said, Thursday (4/9).
He explained that the number of residents of Jakarta Province who are required to register for e-KTP for the first time in 2026 is 182,412 people based on the Clean Population Data for the second semester of 2025.
Until now, less than 10 percent have been reached, or there are still 164,443 residents who have not yet been recorded.
"Most of them are beginners and residents with limited service hours. Through this program, the agency is trying to reach these groups," he explained.
According to him, the population data is the basis for the government in formulating policies or data-driven policies.
"The agency demonstrates its commitment to providing public-oriented services. We continue to transform, both in terms of regulations and technological innovation, based on the principle of providing adaptive, easy, fast, accurate, and free services to the public," he emphasized.
As for information, the program also provides other population administration services such as Family Cards, Child Identity Cards, moving in especially for new arrivals after Eid as well as civil registration such as birth certificates and death certificates.
