Ten personnel from the Grogol Petamburan Water Resources (SDA) Unit, dredged a drainage channel on Jalan Hadiah Utama 1, RT 07/02 in Jelambar. They collected 550 bags of mud, or about 9.1 cubic meters of waste
Grogol Petamburan Sub-district SDA Unit Head, Ibnu explained that the cleaning aims to restore the drain's function so it can handle heavy rain without overflowing.
Routine dredging will help prevent flooding
"Clearing out the mud and trash is vital. Without it, the blockage would likely cause flooding in the area during rainstorms," he noted, Thursday (4/9).
He explained that the dredging work covered approximately one kilometer of the drainage channel on that road. The cleaning was performed manually using shovels and hoes, starting in the morning and concluding this afternoon.
The work received appreciation from Jelambar Urban Village Head, Pradista Machdala Putra.
"Routine dredging will help prevent flooding caused by water overflowing from the drains when the rainy season arrives," he emphasized.
