Jakarta Council (DPRD) Chair Khoirudin said the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) app must be utilized optimally across all levels within the Jakarta Provincial Government.

"The goal is to make things easier for residents,"

As the official public service super app, JAKI integrates various residents' needs into a single platform, ranging from reporting city issues and checking food prices to accessing transportation, tax services, and emergency assistance.

According to Khoirudin, JAKI is intended to make it easier for residents to access services without having to come directly to City Hall.

"The goal is to make things easier for residents, so they don't have to queue at City Hall. All levels of government can use it. But without proper oversight, the results will not be optimal," he said on Wednesday (4/8).

However, Khoirudin stressed that JAKI should not serve only as a complaint platform without proper follow-up.

He emphasized the importance of layered supervision, including the role of the Inspectorate, to ensure every complaint is handled to completion.

"There must be control over the execution of public complaints. Otherwise, it will be difficult to manage," he added.

He also highlighted the need to evaluate JAKI's effectiveness. In the near future, Khoirudin plans to coordinate with Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to ensure responsiveness among officials in handling residents' reports.

On the other hand, he noted the high volume of complaints received via JAKI and directly by the DPRD has constrained time for field supervision.

"Every day we receive a large number of complaint letters, which must be distributed to Commissions A to E. There is almost no time left for inspections due to the volume of reports," he explained.

Khoirudin also addressed the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in public services, emphasizing that it should serve as a supporting tool rather than replace human roles.

"AI is a tool, not a substitute for our presence. We are the ones responsible and must use our judgment and empathy, which cannot be replaced by AI," he asserted.

He added that AI operates based on human instructions, so its use must be carried out wisely and responsibly.

"AI depends on who gives the commands. My hope is that we remain careful in serving the public, because in essence, officials are public servants," he stressed.
