West Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency is normalizing water channel on Jalan SMA 57, RW 06 of Kedoya Utara Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk. The work has been starting since early May and is targeted for completion in May.

Field Coordinator of Kebon Jeruk District's Water Resource Unit, Ujang explained normalization follows up on residents' complaints regarding flooding in the surrounding area.

According to Ujang, his team has conducted checks and discovered that the 360-meter-long channel is clogged and inadequate to accommodate water during heavy rain, causing flooding.

"We carry out repairs and normalization of the channels by installing a 40 x 40 centimeter U-ditch," he explained.

It is hoped that normalizing the channel by installing a u-ditch will enlarge and facilitate cleaning the channel.

"We deploy 18 personnel to work on it. Now the progress reaches 40 percent," he stated.
