PPSU personnel from Kamal Muara Urban Village, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, have transformed a vandalized wall on Jalan Kapuk Kamal Raya into an eye-catching coastal-themed mural.

This is a swift response to community reports and part of an effort to beautify the neighborhood and ensure that public spaces remain clean and comfortable.

We expect to finish it by the end of the week

Kamal Muara Urban Village Secretary, Eka Afriwidiantoro explained that the mural is a direct follow-up to community concerns over unsightly graffiti.

"We are painting this mural to address reports from residents regarding vandalism in the area," he remarked, Wednesday (4/1).

According to him, the 50-meter-long and 4-meter-high mural is located on a wall in the PT Baja Marga area. Five Orange Squad members have been working on the project since March 3.

"The artwork represents Kamal Muara's identity, showcasing both land and coastal landscapes. We expect to finish it by the end of the week," he noted.

He hopes the mural will enhance the neighborhood's aesthetics while encouraging the community to safeguard public assets from damage.

"Our aim is to keep the environment clean and vibrant, providing a positive feel for everyone passing by," he added.

Appreciation also came from a road user, Endang (48).

"It looks excellent; it is now beautiful and clean. I hope this mural lasts a long time and that there are no more vandals who ruin it," she emphasized.
