registering new arrivals
"We record our new arrivals and direct them to immediately take care of their population administration, both as permanent and non-permanent residents," he said, Monday (3/30).
He urged newcomers to report and coordinate with local administrators, such as the neighborhood association (RT) and community association (RW) so their presence can be properly recorded and they can secure environmental guarantees.
Asep added that this activity will be implemented in stages across all districts in North Jakarta until the end of April 2026 as part of an effort to improve orderly population administration.
"After this, we will hold similar activities in Koja District on April 6 and Pademangan District on April 20, and the other three districts next month," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of RW 10 of Cilincing Urban Village, Fathurrozi reminded every newcomer to have a clear goal, including a job, considering that the majority of local residents work as stevedores with a weekly wage system.
"This program is very helpful, especially in registering new arrivals and ensuring they have complete documentation. It is also essential for various purposes, such as social assistance and educational services," he admitted.
