Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung reaffirmed the Jakarta government's commitment to being an inclusive and open city for everyone. He also ensured that the Jakarta government will not conduct administrative identity raids—locally known as operasi yustisi—for newcomers arriving in the city.

"When (travelers) return to Jakarta, we certainly expect that for whoever returns and enters the city, Jakarta remains open," he stated after flagging off thousands of participants in the free homecoming program at the Monas area, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (3/17).

Despite forgoing identity raids, he urged newcomers to have the skills and expertise needed by the labor market. He believes that living in Jakarta requires both hard work and professional skills to enhance one’s well-being.

"Life in Jakarta is not as smooth as it’s pictured. It takes hard work to survive here. We have decided against holding identity raids, so Jakarta remains open to all," he explained.

Pramono reminded travelers to stay orderly, safe, and comfortable during their trip. He also asked them not to give their families false hope about finding work in Jakarta without proper skills.

"When the time comes to return to Jakarta, remember that the city is open to all. But do not lure (your relatives) with promises or expectations, as not everyone can succeed in the struggle for life in Jakarta," he remarked.
