The Jakarta Provincial Government dispatched the transportation of 388 motorbikes belonging to residents participating in the Free Homecoming program from Pulo Gadung Terminal, East Jakarta.
Deputy Head of Jakarta Transportation Agency, Ujang Hermawan said the 388 motorcycles were transported using 15 trailer trucks to five destination cities, namely Solo, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri and Kebumen.
Reduce the risk of traffic accidents
"Vehicle owners will be dispatched via the Free Homecoming program from the Monas Crossing area, Central Jakarta on Tuesday (3/17) tomorrow," he said, Monday (3/16).
This Free Homecoming program is routinely held by the Jakarta Provincial Government every year to help people return to their hometowns more safely and comfortably.
"Reduce the risk of traffic accidents for travelers who usually use motorcycles," he added.
He continued that the motorcycles that were sent in advance can then be used by their owners when they are in their hometowns, especially to support mobility to visit family.
For the returning flow, all motorcycles are scheduled to depart from their destination cities on March 25 to Jakarta and arrive back at Pulo Gadung Terminal.
"The number of motorcycles participating in this program increased by around 22 percent compared to 2025, which only reached 300 units," he continued.
Meanwhile, East Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Kusmanto said this program is very helpful for residents and is able to reduce the number of traffic accidents during the homecoming season, especially for motorcyclists.
"Hopefully all travelers can reach their hometowns safely and return to Jakarta in good health," he hoped.
