The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of South Jakarta opened a free health service post for fire survivors on Jalan Bintaro Permai, RW 09, Bintaro Urban Village, Pesanggrahan District.

Head of South Jakarta PMI, Mundari said the health post was activated by medical volunteers to ensure that the refugees' health conditions were monitored and they received the necessary treatment.

priority for residents

"We take inventory of the needs that are a priority for residents," he said, Monday (3/16).

Mundari explained that medical volunteers and other officers were not only on duty at health posts, but also went directly to evacuation sites to provide health services to fire survivors.

The South Jakarta PMI has also distributed aid to residents affected by the fire. This includes 40 basic food packages, 32 basic necessities packages, two cartons of baby diapers, 10 cartons of formula milk, mineral water, and several jerrycans of floor cleaner to maintain cleanliness in the evacuation site.

According to him, the assistance provided is also a form of utilization of funds from the 2025 PMI Fundraising Month which are returned to the community, especially for vulnerable groups affected by disasters.

He hopes that the presence of PMI volunteers at the location can help ease the burden on affected residents and provide support to survivors so they can get back on their feet after the disaster.

"We will continue to monitor the location until the emergency response period is declared over," he added.

Meanwhile, Head of the South Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Task Force, Sukendar, said that in handling the aftermath of the fire that affected around 200 people, BPBD had set up a main post and refugee tents around the incident location.

"Evacuees were previously housed in a nearby sports center. Currently, some residents are also occupying SDN Bintaro 01 and 02. We continue to monitor all evacuees, along with relevant agencies, to ensure their basic needs are met," he stated.
