Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung lauded the healthcare infrastructure at the Duren Sawit Specialized Regional Hospital (RSKD) in East Jakarta. His remarks were delivered during an Iftar gathering with medical practitioners and hospital staff on Wednesday (3/11).

"This is a key specialized facility under the Jakarta government. It stands as a rare, if not unique, institution within our network, and its facilities are highly commendable," he expressed.

He spent time speaking personally with patients, praising the hospital’s status as a premier hub for specialized care in the capital. He noted, the facility’s dedication to quality has cemented its reputation as a top-tier medical asset.

"We want everyone who seeks treatment here to leave in a much better place," he remarked, emphasizing the city's commitment to patient well-being.

Beyond inspecting the medical infrastructure, he highlighted the most significant hurdle facing survivors post-treatment: social reintegration. He urged Jakartans to begin dismantling the negative stigmas often attached to those who have received care at specialized hospitals.

"Crucially, the community must be able to embrace these individuals while simultaneously eradicating the existing stigma; that is the top priority," he stated.

He also addressed the prevalence of bullying, calling for stronger safeguards to protect the public. He has directed the Assistant for People’s Welfare to review existing protections and explore more robust measures against harassment.

"I will task the Assistant for People’s Welfare and their team to study whether a gubernatorial regulation specifically targeting bullying is necessary," Pramono stated.
