The ranks of East Jakarta Social Sub-agency and PMI distributed aid to inundation survivors in several locations on Sunday (3/8). This assistance was provided as a follow-up to a request from the local sub-district.
Head of East Jakarta Social Sub-agency, Agata Bayu Putra said five urban villages received aid for residents affected by inundation last Sunday. The aid distributed included not only basic necessities but also ready-to-eat meals for residents observing the fast.

"We have distributed aid since yesterday afternoon with different types in each urban village," he said, Monday (3/9).
Agata explained that in Pondok Bambu Urban Village, the assistance provided included 50 five-kilogram bags of rice, 50 two-liter packages of cooking oil, 50 bottles of sweet soy sauce, 100 packs of biscuits, 100 cans of sardines, 50 boxes of instant noodles, and 50 goodie bags.
Meanwhile, in Kebon Pala Urban Village, 100 five-kilogram bags of rice, 100 two-liter packages of cooking oil, 100 bottles of sweet soy sauce, 200 packs of biscuits, 200 cans of sardines, 100 boxes of instant noodles, and 100 goodie bags were distributed.
In Cipinang Muara Urban Village, 600 ready-to-eat meal packages and 600 bottles of mineral water were distributed. In Halim Perdanakusuma Urban Village, 500 ready-to-eat meal packages and 500 bottles of mineral water were distributed.
"We also provided assistance in Makasar Urban Village in the form of 1,250 ready-to-eat food packages and 1,250 bottles of mineral water for breaking the fast," he added.
Head of Public Relations and Communications of the East Jakarta PMI, Agus Bastian, added that his party provided assistance in the form of 2,100 loaves of bread, 960 bottles of mineral water, 35 mats, eight boxes of diapers, 20 tarpaulins, 60 blankets, and 20 family kit packages for affected residents in several urban villages.
The assistance was given to residents affected by flooding due to the overflowing Sunter River in a number of areas, namely Pondok Bambu, Cipinang Muara, Cipinang Besar Selatan, Halim Perdanakusuma, and Cipinang Melayu Urban Villages.
"The results of yesterday's data collection recorded that there were 417 heads of families or around 1,312 people who survived the flooding," he stated.
The East Jakarta PMI immediately coordinated with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Social Agency Sub-agency, and district and village officials in the process of handling and distributing aid to residents.
"We also provided health services at the location," he added.
Meanwhile, Head of Pondok Bambu Urban Village, Ateng Surahman explained the inundation occurred on Jalan Irigasi RT 10/04 on Sunday night is now recede.
"Residents who had evacuated have returned to their homes," he explained.
