Personnel of West Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency and Metro Police Traffic Unit intensify monitoring of activities at locations that are often used as illegal terminals for inter-city and inter-provincial (AKAP) buses.

Two buses caught violating regulations were fined

Sub-agency's Head Section of Operational, Agus Prasetyo explained tightening of supervision was carried out following the action taken against two AKAP buses that picked up and dropped off passengers outside the official terminal, Thursday (3/5).

Agus added that the two AKAP buses were operating to pick up and drop off passengers at the Outing Ring Road, Kalideres and the Kapuk Toll Exit, Cengkareng.

"Two buses caught violating regulations were fined. We suspect the locations where they pick up and drop off passengers have been turned into illegal or shadow terminals," he added.

He hopes that all autobus managers and AKAP bus drivers will comply with the rules for picking up and dropping off passengers at official terminals in accordance with applicable regulations.

"We will also increase patrols by officers in the surrounding area," he emphasized.
