Maintenance personnel from the East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency are currently repairing a collapsed retaining wall along a drainage channel on Jalan Garuda in Pulo Gebang.
Cakung SDA Unit Head, Dian Nur Cahyono noted that the project began on March 3 and is slated for completion tomorrow, Friday (3/6).
We bring 10 personnel to handle the repairs
"We bring 10 personnel to handle the repairs," he stated, Thursday (3/5)
He explained that the 80-centimeter-high retaining wall gave way along a 20-meter stretch on Feb. 25 following heavy downpours.
"We are using river stone to ensure a robust build," he noted, adding that the project is currently 80% complete.
This work received appreciation from RT 04/13, Pulo Gebang Urban Village Chairman, Nasri.
"I am hopeful these reinforcements will stave off further landslides, especially given the site’s close proximity to residential areas," he concluded.
