South Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar has called on all ranks of his administration to prioritize integrity and professionalism when serving the public, particularly regarding business licensing.
Anwar issued a stern reminder to all municipal officials to ensure that public services remain entirely free from collusion and corruption. He emphasized that transparency is non-negotiable in every administrative process.
Every facet must be meticulously evaluated
"This includes the construction of sports facilities and other structures; every single one must possess a valid Building Approval (PBG)," he asserted, Saturday (2/28).
Anwar emphasized that all construction projects, particularly sports facilities, are strictly required to secure a technical endorsement from the Youth and Sports Agency while adhering to established building codes.
Further, he highlighted that ancillary features—such as sound attenuation systems and adequate parking provisions—must be prioritized to avoid infringing on the peace of local residents.
"Regarding facilities currently under intense scrutiny, such as Padel courts, we are implementing a strict operational cap at 8 PM, following the latest directives from city leadership," he elaborated.
He then urged the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Unit (UP PM-PTSP) along with the Human Settlements, Spatial Planning, and Land Sub-agency to be more selective when authorizing business licenses, particularly those that pose a potential threat to residential tranquility.
"From the grassroots to the highest administrative tier, every facet must be meticulously evaluated to ensure the public’s interests are not compromised," he asserted firmly.
South Jakarta UP PM-PTSP Head, Indarini Ekaningtyas noted that official authorization is a mandatory prerequisite for any commercial activity. For now, the management of a Padel court in Gandaria Selatan area finds its permit deferred as authorities evaluate local residents' concerns.
"Without a valid permit, the establishment is legally prohibited from commencing operations," she explained.
South Jakarta Building, Spatial Planning, and Land Sub-agency Head, Andy Lazuardy revealed plans to seal off a Padel court facility on Jalan Haji Nawi, Gandaria Selatan. The move comes as the structure has failed to comply with the city's mandatory prerequisites.
"We'll take decisive action in accordance with existing regulations. Currently, we are still in the liaison phase with related agencies to finalize the enforcement," he stated.
