Jakarta City Council Vice Chairwoman, Rany Mauliani has expressed her strong support for the ongoing Ramadan Festival, themed "Mudik ke Jakarta" (Homecoming to Jakarta), which is set to run until March 31, 2026.

According to her, the synergy within the city administration has managed to radiate a sense of community and warmth.

Ramadan in Jakarta has never looked so cool

“There’s a beautiful warmth in the air, and the resident engagement is off the charts. The administration’s hard work has truly paid off—Ramadan in Jakarta has never looked so cool,” she stated, Saturday (2/28).

She added that the festival serves as a perfect entertainment alternative or "urban healing" for residents who choose to remain in the capital throughout Ramadan and Idulfitri holidays.

With enticing hospitality deals and massive shopping bonanzas offering up to 70% off at various retail hubs, the public can fully embrace the festive cheer without the need for out-of-town travel.

"This initiative is a heartfelt gesture for Jakartans. We want everyone to celebrate with joy using the special facilities provided by the administration. From shopping to staycations, you can enjoy the full holiday experience without leaving the heart of the city,” she added.

Rany also emphasized that the tax incentive policy for business owners serves as a mutually beneficial solution. Under this scheme, vendors receive fiscal relief, while consumers enjoy more competitive and affordable prices.

“This is a win-win scenario. Both sellers and buyers reap the rewards through the administration’s subsidized support. We fully stand behind this initiative,” she asserted.

Further, she encouraged residents to celebrate Idulfitri in an orderly and jubilant manner, especially those choosing to stay in the metropolis.

“For all residents remaining in Jakarta, it’s a great way to avoid the typical holiday gridlock. However, it is vital to stay orderly and comply with regulations so that our Idulfitri celebrations remain seamless and full of joy,” she concluded.

The capital is buzzing after Governor Pramono Anung's grand opening of the Jakarta Ramadan Festival at Bundaran HI. To drive the festive economy, the city is offering fiscal perks to 101 retail hubs and hotels, resulting in unprecedented price slashes of up to 70% for shoppers. The city's skyline is also set to glow with the return of the much-anticipated Jakarta Light Festival.

Despite the "Stay in Jakarta" push, the government is not neglecting those traveling for Idulfitri, deploying 690 buses for its complimentary homecoming service. Ensuring a safe and tranquil atmosphere remains the bedrock of this year’s Ramadan operations, as the administration bolsters security measures across the capital’s busiest hubs.
