West Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Sub-agency together with Industry, Trade, Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprise Sub-agency, ensuring the availability of three-kilogram Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders ahead of National Religious Holidays (HBKN).

This was confirmed after the two West Jakarta City Government OPDs carried out monitoring at a number of agents, bases and retailers, Wednesday (2/25).

Current stock is abundant and sufficient

Head Section of Energy for West Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Sub-agency, Bambang Prayitno said monitoring also involved Petamina and Hiswana Migas West Jakarta.

"Current stock is abundant and sufficient," he said.

He added that this sufficient field stock condition is inseparable from Pertamina's policy of implementing optional additions of up to 100 percent until the end of Ramadan.

LPG availability at one agent in Kalideres District averages 1,120 cylinders, equivalent to two truckloads, per day. The LPG is distributed to official Pertamina bases at the Highest Retail Price (HET) in accordance with applicable regulations, namely Jakarta Gubernatorial Regulation No. 4 of 2015 about the HET for three-kilogram LPG, which is Rp 16,000.

"In West Jakarta, specifically in Kalideres District, there are approximately 57 agents. If we multiply that number and add in the 100 percent optional supply, I think it's more than enough," he added.

Meanwhile, Head of West Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprise Sub-agency, Iqbal Idham Ramid confirmed that his staff had been monitoring prices from agents to retailers. They also checked the weight of empty and filled cylinders, as well as LPG availability.

"We want to ensure that this subsidized LPG reaches the public safely. There will be no shortages or other issues during Ramadan and the lead-up to Eid al-Fitr," he stated.
