Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprise (PPKUKM) Agency supports the Gentengisasi program or mutual cooperation movement to build and organize people's houses initiated by President Prabowo Subianto.
The program has begun in the Menteng Tenggulun area, Menteng District, Central Jakarta. In the initial phase, 52 houses will be renovated by the Indonesian Ministry of Housing and Settlements.
encourage and provide maximum assistance
Head of the agency, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo, said the party is ready to integrate the physical development of the area with strengthening the community economy based on MSMEs.
"We see great potential in Menteng Tenggulun to develop it as a community-based culinary tourism area. The Jakarta PPKUKM Agency ensures it will encourage and provide maximum assistance to help MSMEs here grow and advance," she said, Wednesday (2/25).
She added that 23 of the 52 houses to be renovated are both residential and business locations. Additionally, 10 other MSMEs will continue to receive assistance even though their homes are already in good condition.
Ratu explained that support for the Gentengisasi program is in line with the agenda of the Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, in encouraging regional planning based on community empowerment and strengthening the people's economy.
Governor Pramono Anung has consistently emphasized that Jakarta's development must address two key issues. Those are improving environmental quality and enhancing the well-being of its residents.
Ratu confirmed that the Jakarta PPKUKM Agency will conduct data collection and mapping of residents' business potential to support the culinary tourism concept being prepared.
Nearly every corner of the Menteng Tenggulun area has home-based food and beverage businesses that have the potential to be developed into new economic attractions.
"We will facilitate business legality, improve product quality, packaging and branding, facilitate marketing, and even access to financing. We have also partnered with banks and financial institutions to protect MSMEs from being entangled in loan sharks and to improve their financial literacy," she explained.
She hopes that through cross-sector collaboration, Menteng Tenggulun can transform from a densely populated area into an organized, clean, productive area, and known as a culinary tourism destination based on mutual cooperation.
