Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, together with Deputy Governor Rano Karno, held a thanksgiving event entitled "One Year of Building Jakarta from the Ground Up" at Ayodia Park, South Jakarta, Friday (2/20).

This event also served as a moment for reflection and presentation of the achievements of the year's performance in improving the capital city.

fundamental problems still exist

Pramono conveyed the commitment of the Jakarta Provincial Government to resolve various problems that have not yet been resolved.

"Indeed, fundamental problems still exist. Traffic jams still exist, flooding still exists, and pollution still exists. And that's what we specifically want to at least mitigate from what's happening now," he said.

As for flooding problems, the Jakarta Provincial Government is normalizing the Ciliwung, Cakung Lama, and Krukut Rivers, as well as dredging rivers in West Jakarta.

Pramono then highlighted Jakarta's achievement in the Global City rankings, which rose from 74th to 71st in his 10-month tenure. He also noted improvements in social inequality and economic growth.

Pramono also emphasized his top priority in improving welfare through the Jakarta Provincial Government's social assistance programs for education, such as the Jakarta Smart Card program, the Jakarta Excellent Student Card, diploma amnesty, and free education at 40 private schools.

"And for anyone who receives KJP or KJMU, entry to Ancol, Ragunan, Monas, and so on is free," he added.

Various programs to improve public welfare are also continuing, despite a decrease in the Jakarta Regional Budget (APBD) from the previous year. Under Pramono-Rano's leadership, the Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to continuing the distribution of the Jakarta Elderly Card, Jakarta Disability Card, and Jakarta Child Card programs.

In the health sector, the Jakarta Provincial Government continues to strive to provide convenient healthcare services to the public through its White Troops. Jakarta currently has 31 hospitals, 44 district community health centers (Puskesmas), and 292 community health centers at the urban village level.

The Jakarta Provincial Government will build two more hospitals, namely the Royal Batavia Cakung Hospital and a hospital on the Sumber Waras land to increase access to health services for the public.

In the transportation sector, Jakarta now ranks 17th in the world for transportation infrastructure. Several breakthroughs made by Governor Pramono and Deputy Governor Rano include expanding TransJabodetabek services to the surrounding areas and providing free services to 15 groups of people.

To increase public and green spaces in Jakarta, the Jakarta Provincial Government has also added 21 new green open spaces.

"There are actually a lot of small ones. For example, Taman Bendera Pusaka is a green open space that we combined, covering 5.6 hectares," he continued.

Pramono and Rano also committed to continuing and completing various unfinished programs of the previous administration. Pramono cited the reactivation of the Planetarium, the dismantling of the monorail pillars, the construction of a pedestrian bridge connecting JIS-Ancol, and the construction of an international hospital on the grounds of Sumber Waras Hospital.

Pramono also wants Jakarta to be a home for religious diversity. He wants tolerance, harmony, and togetherness to continue to grow and be maintained in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor Rano Karno stated that of the 40 Quick Wins programs implemented, approximately 97 percent have been realized. According to him, three major problems in Jakarta remain unresolved. Those are flooding, traffic congestion, and poverty.

"There are only three points that have not been completed because they require quite a long time," he stated.

Rano also emphasized his commitment with Governor Pramono to resolving these outstanding issues.

"In this second year, we already have a program of what we will do. Of course we have to carry out this program year by year," he emphasized.
