The Jakarta government has officially announced the return of its annual "Mudik Gratis" (Free Homecoming) program for 2026/1447 Hijri. This aims to facilitate residents traveling to their hometowns for Idulfitri holidays, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and orderly journey while reducing private vehicle congestion on highways.
Online registration is set to open on February 22, 2026, via the official website at mudikgratis.jakarta.go.id.
Tickets are strictly prohibited from being resold or transferred
Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head, Syafrin Liputo emphasized that applicants must strictly follow the schedule to ensure smooth administration and optimal quota utilization.
Applicants must provide their Family Card (KK) and Jakarta ID card (KTP)—which will be prioritized—as well as a Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK) for those bringing motorcycles," he stated, Wednesday (2/18).
He furthered that each registrant can include a maximum of three additional family members listed under the same Family Card. The National Identification Number (NIK) provided during registration must match the original ID card.
Once the online process is complete, participants must undergo a verification process by bringing photocopies of the required documents to the nearest designated verification centers.
“Tickets are strictly prohibited from being resold or transferred to third parties,” he emphasized.
To manage the high volume of applicants, the agency has categorized the registration process into three clusters based on destinations:
• Cluster 1: Destinations include Solo, Tasikmalaya, Palembang, Madiun, Sragen, and Cilacap. Registration is open from February 22–24, 2026, with verification scheduled for February 25–27, 2026.
• Cluster 2: Destinations include Yogyakarta, Kuningan, Lampung, Tegal, Kebumen, Jombang, and Pekalongan. Registration runs from February 25–27, 2026, followed by verification from February 28–March 2, 2026.
• Cluster 3: Destinations cover Wonogiri, Kediri, Malang, Wonosobo, Purwokerto, Semarang, and Sidoarjo. Registration is set for February 28–March 2, 2026, with verification taking place from March 3–5, 2026.
Syafrin warned that punctuality is key to securing a spot in the program.
"Those who fail to show up during their designated verification window will be considered to have withdrawn, and their slots will be reallocated to other applicants," he warned.
He urged residents to keep a close eye on the schedule for their specific destination clusters and to ensure all documents are in order before visiting the verification centers.
"This program is tailored to provide convenience while upholding administrative integrity to ensure a seamless homecoming experience for everyone," he remarked.
He added the Jakarta government has already finalized the destination cities and departure timelines for both the bus fleet and the motorcycle carrier trucks, as previously announced.
"Hopefully, this program allows residents to celebrate Idulfitri with their loved ones in their hometowns safely, comfortably, and with peace of mind," he concluded.
