Blue taskforce personnel of Koja District's Water Resources Unit, North Jakarta is elevating the retaining wall of Sunter River on Jalan Perjuangan I, RT 01/10, Rawa Badak Selatan Urban Village. The project is targeted for completion in March 2026.
Head of Koja District's Water Resource Unit, Slamet Riyanto said the raising of the retaining wall is carried out as an anticipatory measure to prevent flooding in residential areas and to follow up on community requests.

"The work included raising and repairing the retaining wall. During inspections, personnel discovered a section of the retaining wall that was nearing collapse and required immediate repair," he said, Wednesday (2/18).
Slamet explained the raised retaining wall is constructed along 75 meters, while only 15 meters are repaired. The total height of the sheet pile is 1.2 meters, with a width of 40 centimeters at the bottom and 35 centimeters at the top.
"This work has started since January 26, 2026 and currently the progress has reached 45 percent," he explained.
Meanwhile, Netha (30), a local resident, appreciated the work much.
"We feel safer now. Hopefully, once this is complete, the flooding in our area can be resolved properly," she hoped.
