The Jakarta Public Works Agency, in partnership with Transjakarta, conducted a joint maintenance drive as part of its commitment to keeping the city’s infrastructure in peak condition and fully functional for the public.

The operation focused on the 9.4-kilometer dedicated Transjakarta Corridor 13 flyover, spanning from the Rawa Barat Bus Stop to the JORR Bus Stop.

Our primary focus is maintaining lane cleanliness

The initiative saw broad participation from across the agency, including sub-agencies from all five administrative cities, Equipment and Supply Unit, UP4BM, Land Unit, and Road Information Center (Pusdatin).

Jakarta Data and Information Center Head, Siti Dinarwenny stated that this initiative follows up on the #JagaJakartaBersih cleanup campaign held on February 8, as directed by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung.

Personnel worked hand-in-hand to clear the corridor of debris and materials that could obstruct traffic or clog drainage systems.

“Our primary focus is maintaining lane cleanliness and ensuring that storm drains and catch basins are in peak condition and free of blockages,” she expressed, Tuesday (2/17).

Wenny explained that clear drainage is key to preventing water pooling, especially during heavy downpours. She noted that stagnant water can compromise road integrity and jeopardize the safety and comfort of public transport users, particularly Transjakarta passengers.

Besides cleaning the drains, the agency also repairs potholes along the route. Wenny emphasized that swift repairs are crucial to preventing further damage and ensuring a smooth journey for buses traveling through Corridor 13.

“We're optimistic about our ability to continuously improve the quality of public service,” she concluded.
