The "Yellow Squad" from the East Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency has completed emergency repairs on 1,745 potholes across 10 sub-districts.

East Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency Head, Benhard Hutajulu stated that frequent heavy rainfall since January had triggered flooding, leading to asphalt damage.

We conduct daily monitoring

"Since early February, we have patched 1,745 potholes to ensure safety and comfort for all road users," he expressed, Tuesday (2/17).

The sub-agency utilized various materials for the repairs, including 558.62 cubic meters of hotmix and 1,575.68 cubic meters of coldmix. In total, personnel have restored a road area of 2,561.46 square meters, spanning a total length of approximately 2.75 kilometers.

Each repair site involved eight to ten personnel. Beyond fixing the roads, the squad also helped manage traffic flow to minimize congestion during the process.

Repairs were conducted on several major thoroughfares, including Jalan Kolonel Sugiono, Jalan Laksamana Malahayati, and Jalan DI Panjaitan. Benhard noted that the situation is "dynamic," as new potholes frequently emerge after heavy rain.

"We conduct daily monitoring and do immediate repairs as soon as damage is detected," he explained.

Local resident Cahyadi (51) expressed his appreciation for the agency's swift action.

"We are grateful for the quick response and hope all damaged roads in East Jakarta can be addressed soon," he concluded.
