The "Blue Squad" from the Cakung Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency and PPSU workers have been deployed to dredge a drainage culvert crossing on Jalan Raya Cakung-Cilincing, East Jakarta.
Cakung SDA Sub-agency Head, Dian Nur Cahyono stated that the dredging was necessary to clear a blockage caused by heavy sedimentation. This clogging has frequently triggered street puddles during rainfall.
The cleanup covered approximately one kilometer
“11 personnel were assigned to dredge the drainage crossing on Jalan Cacing,” he expressed, Friday (2/13).
He noted that the culvert measures 12 meters in length and one meter in width, with sediment buildup reaching approximately 50 centimeters in depth.
“Challenges on the ground include concrete curb fragments falling into the culvert, dislodged by container trucks that frequently park at the site,” he added.
The dredging was initially conducted on February 10-11, 2026, and resumed on February 13 with a cleaning operation covering a one-kilometer stretch of drainage along Jalan Cacing.
Cakung Barat Urban Village Economy and Development Section Head, Rina Syamsudin added that the community cleanup drive focused on Jalan Cacing to support the ongoing culvert dredging.
"The cleanup covered approximately one kilometer, stretching from the RGTC junction to the Kalimalang or Inspeksi PAM intersection," she noted.
Meanwhile, RT 09/08 Head, in West Cakung, Hifzillah expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the joint task force for clearing the silt from the drainage.
"Hopefully with the drains now cleared, water will flow smoothly and prevent any further puddles from forming," he hoped.
