support and strengthen each other
The cooperation also includes the scope of increasing human resource capacity, developing government information systems, organizing population data, integrating transportation services, disaster management, environmental and climate resilience, and developing tourism.
Rano explained that the five-year agreement aims to optimize the fulfillment of basic needs for the people of Jakarta, as well as ensuring the availability of adequate food stocks to control regional inflation.
In the short term, Rano added, the collaboration is focused on food security through a business-to-business (B2B) scheme between PT Food Station as a Jakarta Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) and business partners in Cianjur Regency.
"Apart from rice and paddy, Jakarta also needs eggs, chilies, shallots and various other commodities," he added.
Rano said that this collaboration is strengthened through a government-to-government scheme with the aim of developing both regions.
Cianjur Deputy Regent Ramzi Geus Thebe echoed Rano's sentiments. He and his staff will soon discuss Jakarta's food supply needs.
"Jakarta, West Java, and Banten are neighboring regions. Therefore, we must support and strengthen each other with the primary goal of empowering and improving the welfare of farmers," he stated.
