Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno attended harvest activity at Kertajaya Village, Ciranjang District, Cianjur, West Java, Thursday (2/12).
The Grand Harvest on this 150-hectare plot of land is a follow-up to the collaboration between PT Food Station Tjipinang and PT Tunas Bumi Emas Lestari which was established in 2025.
This collaboration will have a direct impact
"Jakarta is filled with tall buildings, but we are fully aware that our roots remain in the ground. Land planted, tended, and harvested with prayer," he said.
Rano added that this collaboration was born from the simple awareness that food security is not built with discourse, but with the courage to work together.
"This collaboration will have a direct impact on maintaining supply, prices in the market and making farmers smile," he added.
Through this kind of collaboration, Rano wants to build a strong bridge between the granary and the market.
"This activity not only reaps results but also brings hope. Hope that farmers' children can go to college, hope that prices will no longer play with the farmers' hard work. And hope that Jakarta and Cianjur will grow together," he stated.
Meanwhile, the Director of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya (Perseroda), Dodot Tri Widodo explained, of the total land area of 150 hectares, around 100 of them were planted with IR 64 and Inpari 32 rice variety seeds. Then, the other 50 hectares were planted with Pandan Wangi rice variety seeds.
Dodot hopes that the existing collaboration can be further enhanced through land expansion, particularly for the Pandan Wangi variety.
"Because there's a market for this, both in Jakarta, Bali, and certain regions. We will further develop it so that Cianjur becomes one of the rice granary regencies in West Java and Indonesia," he stated.
