The Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has sounded the alarm over potential extreme weather conditions set to grip the capital from February 8 to 12, 2026.

Citing data from the BMKG, the agency warned that the entire city—including Seribu Islands—is in the crosshairs of moderate to heavy rainfall. These conditions are expected to trigger hydrometeorological impacts, such as flash floods and standing water.

We are working hand in glove with various agencies

"We urge residents to stay on their toes and ramp up preparedness in the face of these turbulent patterns. Being ready is the name of the game when it comes to keeping disaster risks, especially flooding, at a minimum," stated Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji, Tuesday (2/10).

Isnawa urged residents to stay in the loop by regularly checking official updates, such as water level monitoring via bpbd.jakarta.go.id/waterlevel and the latest flood alerts at pantaubanjir.jakarta.go.id.

He also recommended that people gear up with umbrellas and raincoats, noting that when it comes to disaster kits, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Further, he reminded the public that help is just a stone's throw away via the Jakarta Siaga 112 call center. This round-the-clock lifeline is free of charge and ready to assist in any emergency.

"We are working hand in glove with various agencies to stay ahead of the game and mitigate the impact of the upcoming storms," he added.
