PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) is doubling down on its commitment to turn the Manggarai area into a strategic intermodal integration powerhouse. This initiative aims to level up accessibility and connectivity while fueling the local economy.

This vision is taking shape through the construction of the LRT Jakarta Phase 1B (Velodrome–Manggarai) at Manggarai Station. By throwing its weight behind the Jakarta government’s master plan, Jakpro is helping develop Manggarai into a vital transportation nexus designed to keep the city on the move.

Blgiving the local economy a much-needed shot in the arm

The upcoming LRT station is a game-changer, offering a seamless link to the KRL Commuter Line, Airport Rail, and Transjakarta. This "one-stop" integration is set to make switching between modes a walk in the park for commuters, ensuring a more efficient and comfortable journey.

Technical and Development at Jakpro Director, Dian Takdir emphasized that the Manggarai expansion is about more than just bricks and mortar. The project focuses on a holistic Transit Oriented Development (TOD) approach—one that is integrated, inclusive, and designed to kickstart local economic growth.

He believes the new LRT station will be a game-changer for the local community, providing an immediate and positive ripple effect.

"By bridging these transit modes, we are hitting two targets with one shot: making daily commutes a breeze while giving the local economy a much-needed shot in the arm," he stated, Monday (2/9).

Back in December 2025, Jakpro began testing the waters for a partnership with PT Pasaraya Tosersajaya to fuel the area's TOD vision. This initial phase is all about setting the stage—from inventorying assets to drafting a solid framework for collaboration.

Dian noted that this project is a perfect fit with Governor Pramono Anung’s vision of a global Jakarta. The goal is to ensure the fruits of development reach every corner of the community.

"We are not just building tracks; we are paving the way for economic growth," he explained his. Through this commitment, Jakpro aims to bring massive added value to the table, making sure Manggarai stays at the heart of Jakarta’s transformation.

This integration is set to kick the local economy into high gear while keeping the community on the move.

Dian believes that better connectivity will pave the way for entrepreneurship and boost the area’s economic value without losing the 'soul' of the neighborhood.

Further, LRT Jakarta is joining the green ranks by contributing to the city's fight against climate change. As an electric-powered transit system, it is a key player in the urban decarbonization strategy.

The projected impact is staggering: Phase 1A and 1B are expected to slash emissions by over 2.9 million tons of CO2e, significantly lowering the carbon footprint per passenger compared to those traveling by car or motorcycle.
