The North Jakarta City Government together with the Elderly Communication Forum (FKLU) held free health checks, socialization of non-communicable diseases, and distribution of 450 basic food packages for the elderly at the Yos Sudarso Hall, local Mayor's Office.

North Jakarta Mayor, Hendra Hidayat appreciates FKLU's consistency in providing attention to the elderly as a community group that must be respected and honored.

The elderly are our parents

"The elderly are our parents, whom we should respect and honor. May they always be blessed with health, happiness, and a life full of blessings," he said, Thursday (2/5).

Hendra also expressed his gratitude to all parties who contributed, ensuring the smooth running of the activity and providing tangible benefits to the elderly in North Jakarta, especially in the lead-up to the holy month of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the North Jakarta FKLU, Surati, explained that this activity is a concrete manifestation of the FKLU's presence in assisting the elderly to remain healthy, active, and feel appreciated ahead of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah.

"FKLU North Jakarta together with all administrators are ready to help and accompany the elderly, both at the urban village and district levels, to stay healthy and happy," she stated.

FKLU continues to develop various routine programs, one of which is elderly exercise, which is currently expanding. Initially implemented at nine locations, the program has now expanded to 19.

"Currently we have a pool exercise program that is beneficial for the health recovery of the elderly," she added.

Surati hopes that all ongoing programs can be maintained and improved so that their benefits can be felt more by the elderly.
