A new Transjabodetabek route linking Blok M Terminal to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is set to debut next week.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that the launch aims to expand the city's public transportation network while curbing reliance on private vehicles.

Next week, I will launch a new direct service from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta Airport

He anticipates high ridership for this new service, drawing from the success of existing Transjabodetabek routes.

"Next week, I will launch a new direct service from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta Airport. I am confident and hopeful that this route will mirror the success of the Blok M–Bogor line," he said, at the Shangri-La Hotel, Wednesday (2/4).

He noted that transportation routes from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta Airport have consistently operated at full capacity. He remains optimistic that the new route will effectively curb reliance on private cars.

The service is expected to be a compelling alternative for travelers, especially given its budget-friendly fare of just Rp3,500.

"I am confident this will be a preferred choice for those who usually take Damri buses or taxis. They now have a significantly more affordable option with Transjakarta, which costs only 3,500 and will certainly be faster thanks to the dedicated bus lanes," he explained.

This new Transjabodetabek line will complement existing routes, such as those connecting Blok M to Alam Sutera, PIK 2, Bogor, and Ancol.

Pramono stated that the service will streamline mobility for commuters traveling to and from the airport. Currently, the Jakarta government, through the Transportation Agency (Dishub), is finalizing the operational specifics of the new route.

"They (Dishub) will announce the specific routing details in due course," he concluded.
