Jakarta is ramping up its logistical readiness for the National Lunar New Year 2026. The city’s Development Planning Board (Bappeda) convened a technical session on Tuesday (2/3) with national organizers and creative economy advisors to streamline the event's execution.

Bappeda Head, Atika Nur Rahmania emphasized that the session built upon the foundations laid during a prior strategic meeting with Governor Pramono Anung.

This session is technical in nature

"We have moved past the initial high-level planning phase. This session is technical in nature, designed to guarantee that every collaborative effort between agencies and the committee runs in sync," she stated.

Regarding promotional efforts, the Jakarta government has provided extensive support through outdoor media, including digital content displayed on LED billboards at strategic high-traffic locations across the city. These publication sites are being expanded and updated regularly.

“The promotion goes beyond simply displaying a logo; it features content designed to build public awareness for the National Lunar New Year 2026. Moving forward, we are awaiting further guidance on branding assets and collateral to ensure our outreach is as effective as possible," she explained.

Beyond promotional support, the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency has curated a series of events under the hashtag #ImlekdiJakarta. These festivities are slated to begin on February 13, 2026, as a lead-up to the national peak celebration.

“We want to ensure that the entire sequence of events in Jakarta remains in sync with the national agenda. As the host city, we expect Jakarta to provide attractions that will amplify the resonance of the National Lunar New Year celebration," she explained.

During the meeting, Atika called on the National Lunar New Year Committee to provide a comprehensive briefing on the "Harmoni Imlek Nusantara" (Archipelagic Lunar Harmony) concept and event lineup. Her request emphasized the need for clarity on logistics, public relations strategies, and cross-sector support requirements.

The session was designed to solidify coordination among key stakeholders. She hopes that a successful National Lunar New Year 2026 will serve as a major catalyst for Jakarta’s tourism and creative economy sectors.
