Some 11 personnel of Tanjung Priok Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Task Force have managed to collect 360 sacks containing mud and waste from clogged drains on Jalan Seroja, RT 10/03 Sunter Agung Urban Village, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
It is done, as the water often overflow into residential streets when heavy rain pours
Sunter Agung Urban Village Head Danang Wijanarka said it was to follow up on the result of 2019 Regional Development Planning Forums (Musrembang). Dredging itself was carried out manually using shovel, crowbar and hoe.
"It is done, as the water often overflow into residential streets when heavy rain pours," he expressed, Tuesday (10/20).
He explained part of the closed clogged drains had 80 cm width with 1.2 meters depth.
"The existing condition before it was drained, the mud filled up to 3/4 of the drain's height. Hopefully it won't overflow when it rains," he stated.
