Jakarta Satpol PP starts the DKI Jakarta Regulatory Compliance Operations (OK Prend) simultaneously in five Jakarta municipalities.

" The true friends always remind the others if they do anything wrong, not ignore them"

The purpose of OK Prend is to improve people's discipline and compliance in implementing COVID-19 prevention protocols, especially in wearing mask.

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin mentioned, OK Prend operation is carried out in 48 major arterial roads in five municipalities, sub-districts, and collector roads.

Even though the locations have been determined, but his side will carry out the operation in random areas without prior announcement. This operation is targeted road users who don't wear mask or don't wear mask properly.

"It is an operation which carried out in certain roads where people are tend not to wear mask. We hold the operation in those locations and impose sanctions to the violators," he explained, Tuesday (7/21).

According to him, people who are netted because of not wearing mask will be punished to clean public facilities and infrastructure at least for one hour. If the violators don't want to do it, they can pay administrative fine Rp 250,000.

"Its duration is around 1-2 hours, not 5-10 minutes. They should clean the area properly, not just hold a broom. Because it takes a quite long time to clean the area, some of the violators choose to pay the fine," he mentioned.

He explained, the 'Prend' from OK Prend refers to English word 'Friend'. Through this operation, Satpol PP wants to take a position as public's friend who remind them when they make mistakes.

"When monitoring and giving sanctions to the violators, Satpol PP also acts like a friend. The true friends always remind the others if they do anything wrong, not ignore them," he mentioned.
