Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) encourages cafe and restaurant owners to empower street musicians/bands to perform virtually in their cafes or restaurants.
We collect their requests and help to facilitate it
Jakarta Disparekraf Tourism Industry Division Head, Bambang Ismadi conveyed, providing virtual performance in cafes and restaurants can help musicians/bands in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic.
"It is initiated by musicians. We collect their requests and help to facilitate it. The only solution to help them is to provide virtual performance. Because they are still not allowed to perform live in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission," he explained, Friday (7/17).
His side has distributed circulation letters about musicians empowerment to the owners and management of entertainment venues such as cafes and restaurants. In the near future, Jakarta Disparekraf will bring together the owners of cafes and restaurants and musicians/bands to find a mutually beneficial solution for both sides.
"We will bring them together, as business actors and artists, thus business actors can listen to their requests and accommodate it. We hope musicians can continue to work, be productive, improve their economy, and survive in this pandemic condition," he mentioned.
